VOLUNTEERS AT VACRO
The voluntary work offered at VACRO is interesting, diverse and supported by training and supervision. There are a range of opportunities to suit different skills sets and interests.
Over the recent years we have had a diverse range of people volunteer their services, mostly on a casual basis. Our volunteers range from 18 to 80 years of age and come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. We extend genuine thanks to all who volunteer at VACRO and those who offer their time to assisting us to maintain a wide range of programs.
If you are interested in volunteering with VACRO, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteers are required to undergo police checks and working with children checks.
You will be required to submit a resume and Volunteer Application Form . This can be submitted electronically to email@example.com before or after an information session, or you can bring them along. Printed copies of the application form will be available at the info sessions.
VACRO WOMEN’S MENTORING PROGRAM
VACRO Mentors provide emotional support, model good communication skills and pro-social behaviour, and may assist program participants with practical tasks related to their reintegration into the community.
RED CROSS VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
The Visitor Resource Centres located at Port Phillip Prison and Fulham Correctional Centre offer non-specialist volunteer support to families and friends visiting their loved ones in prison.
Trained volunteers work at both Visitor's Resource Centres to provide refreshments, support and information to visitors before and/or after their visit.
